Both my older brother and I were children of the 70s. For most part , it seems that I followed his foot steps on most things especially sports. For music especially KISS music, things were a little different. I forged the path to his enlightenment.
I am glad that this is one of the many things we share as well as the love for my two Genes(girls).
These shots were taken just before the KISS concert this past Sunday in Raleigh in my studio. My brother is visiting from Chicago and it just seemed appropriate to do a little portrait shoot with Uncle Dave and his nieces. I decided to make these images black and white to match the colors of the makeup.
OK… I had to sneak this one in also. Daddy and the two Genes.

August is a big month for birthdays. This past Saturday, I was invited to photograph a very special 70th birthday party. I have been working on the images from this event and I could not resist sharing some of the food shots.
Man, I am getting hungry looking at them. Here’s some fruits of my labor.

This past month was our second annual camping trip to Grayson Highlands State Park. My sister-in-law Lori Lipkin reserves the group camp site and invites several families and friends to join the fun. What can be better than putting away your cell phones and internet devices and spending some quality time with you family and friends in the mountains? Not to mention that the weather was about 20 degrees less than the heat we have experienced in Raleigh. Oh yea, there are no mosquitoes.
Biking an 18 mile section Virginia Creeper trail from is one of the highlands of the annual trip. This section of trail is a downhill run through the scenic mountain side. Sophie did it for the first time this year after learning to ride her bike after last years run. She is a trooper and did not complain one time during the run. There are many places to stop and relaxing on the trail. One place we found last year allowed the kids to relax and cool off while enjoying some time in the water.
