Last night I was minding my own business in our circle when an invasion of two ghost riders arrived. I could not believe my eyes. They were as fast as lightning and still cute at the same time. I could not help but watch these creatures from beyond. It was almost if I was their father or something proudly gazing at them. Wait, maybe I am their father.
For those techo-geeks like me, this was done using second/rear curtain sync with one off-camera flash. Basically, the blur is coming from the existing ambient light and the slow shutter speed. The flash fires at when the shutter closes instead of when it opens like in normal sync. The flash is used to “freeze” the subject else it would be just a blur. This is the first time I played with this technique. I plan to do some playing in the near future.
